Booking

Provisional Bookings. If you want to book Tal y Waen, check the availability, email us

or telephone Ian or Mandy Whitehead on 01286 871232 (00 44 1286 871232 from outside the UK). We will want to know the dates (Saturday to Saturday) and number of people. We will hold a telephone or e mail booking for a week to enable your deposit to reach us.

Deposit. We require a deposit of £100. The address is below. You can pay by cheque (payable to "Mandy Whitehead") or switch card. We will also accept MasterCard or Barclay card credit cards but will charge £5 extra for each payment. We will acknowledge all bookings and send you an invoice for the balance. This balance is payable 6 weeks before the start day of your booking.

Cancellation. If you want to cancel you must let us know by e mail or in writing and the date of cancellation will be the date we receive this. For cancellation up to 3 months before the booking we will refund your deposit. For cancellation 3 months to 6 weeks before we will retain the deposit. For cancellation within the 6 weeks before the booking we will do our best to re-let the property and if we do we will refund the balance (but not the deposit). We recommend you contact your insurance broker for cancellation insurance.

Other Terms and Conditions

Dogs. We will accept one well-behaved dog if it is not allowed upstairs or on the furniture. However, we must stress that this is sheep farming country and our relationship with local farmers cannot be jeopardized. Therefore dogs should be supervised in the garden (including clearing up any poo!) and on a lead when taken off the property.

Parking. There is off road parking for several vehicles but we would like to know if you are bringing more than two.

Cleaning The house will be cleaned and the beds made up ready for your arrival. Guests are expected to leave Tal y Waen in the condition that they found it.

Arrival & departure times. It helps us to have an idea of your expected arrival time - not normally before 4pm as we will still be cleaning - especially so if you are to arrive later than a normal bedtime! We ask guests to leave by 10am on the following Saturday morning

The Rental Price includes: all bed linen and one bath towel per person plus bath mats, tablecloth, tea towels and dishcloths. We also provide dishwasher powder, washing powder, bin bags and cleaning materials, some toilet rolls, bubble bath and soap. We welcome you with a bottle of wine and a supply of tea, coffee and milk. Electricity is included and there will be a supply of logs and a bucket of coal included in the price. These will normally last a couple of evenings.

Breakages and damage. We do accept that the occasional glass or cup will get broken but reserve the right to charge for breakages, repairs and additional cleaning to that normally expected by reasonable care and use of the property.
